Welcome back to Viva La Vegan! What a weekend to be a Tarheel!! The moral on campus on Monday was full of excitement for the big game! Sadly, we did not win the national championship, however I would be remiss to not acknowledge how incredible of a season the Heels had. Led by first year head coach Hubert Davis, the team made it all the way to national championship while upsetting reigning national champion Baylor, and beating Duke not once but twice! Losing a National Championship never feels good, but fueling your body with delicious vegan food always feels good! I am so proud to be a TarHeel and can't wait for next season!

Since it was such a big week for UNC this week's blog is about UNC Chapel Hill's vegan options! During my break between classes on Monday I decided to head down to Lenoir Dining Hall on campus to grab some lunch. Coming from a small school in Southwest Virginia there were never really any Vegan options in our dining hall or in local restaurants. So I was hesitant to check out Lenoir because I was afraid they were not going to have any vegan options. Wow was I wrong! They had tons of options! Trying to find vegan options on campus can be incredibly challenging but Lenoir had some really great options!

I decided to try the Kitchen Table! Which has plenty of delicious fresh and healthy options for students. I ordered the Sunset smoothie and a Miso Bowl! The sunset smoothie was refreshing especially on the warm sunny day! It was filled with mango, orange, banana, and Almond Milk! #YUM

The Miso bowl was also delicious! It was filled with fresh ingredients such as kale, brown rice, carrots, peppers, and nori! I chose the Miso Ginger dressing with it and it was perfectly filling! They had plenty of different options including vegetarian, vegan, and non-vegan/vegetarian options.
Their menu also features tons of smoothies, smoothie bowls, wraps, sandwiches, and even options to build your own bowl! While there are tons of food options on Franklin Street and other dining halls on campus I highly recommend going to Lenoir and checking out The Kitchen Table!
