Company Highlight: Raw Sugar

Welcome back to Viva La Vegan! When most people think of being vegan many people only think about the diet aspect of being vegan. One of the major steps that a person can take in their personal vegan journey is switching the products they use daily to vegan products. This may seem daunting and one might think "How is my soap not vegan?". Have no fear, this week's blog post highlights the vegan-based company RawSugar.

The company creates products in three main categories; Body,Hair, and Hand.

Body

Raw Sugar produces vegan body wash, lotion, body butter, bar soap, deodorant, foaming bath, and body scrubs in their Body section. Personally, I use their body wash, lotion, and body scrub as my go-to products. Many vegan products lack the moisturizing factor of body wash however with Raw Sugar this is simply not the case. I recommended Raw Sugar's body wash and lotion combination to my friend who struggles with dry skin and her dry skin has disappeared since using these products. One might think that this product must be filled with harmful chemicals however most of the ingredients are natural.

Hair

Raw Sugar has tackled the hair industry and created products for every hair type. Whether your hair is straight, curly, wavy, or anywhere in between Raw Sugar has a shampoo and conditioner combo for you. A prime example of how good their shampoo and conditioner is my senior year roommate Charlotte. Her hair type was (somehow) a mixture of curly, straight, and wavy. She struggled to find a shampoo and conditioner that actually worked for her hair. I suggested RawSugar to her and she has never turned back. She uses The Truly Unruly line which contains all the ingredients that helps keep curly hair hydrated but also doesn't weigh down or harm her hair.

Hand

The COVID-19 pandemic has put an emphasis on hygiene and cleanliness. Washing your hands has always been important but during a global pandemic it is especially important. However, many people don't look to the ingredient section of their hand soaps, they just care if it kills germs. Most popular hand soaps contain ingredients that are harmful to health and dry out skin. Raw Sugar has hand wash, foaming hand wash, and a moisturizing hand therapy. I recommended the Moisture Loving Hand Wash, it gets all the germs off and leaves my hands feeling soft and moisturized.
